Timber (Arcanine)
He's a quick and persevering runner; similarly, he can take quite a few hits in battle without giving in.
He's very tuned to his trainer's emotional state and is very supportive in stressful times.
Unlike some of Basil's pokémon, Timber occasionally enjoys the less battle-centered contest side of things.

Hawkai (Flygon)
Hawkai is fiercely competitive; once in battle he hates to withdraw, no matter what the strategic value of backing off.
Outside of the ring he's very playful, to the point where it seems like the desert dragon has two distinct personalities.
He was Basil's very first pokémon, stowing away in his bag during a school trip to the desert.

Hal (Lanturn)
This Lanturn had a rather peculiar early years, unfortunately not in a good way. He was part of an entertainment group where he performed in show battles. These battles weren't problematic in themselves, however, outside of his performances he was kept away from other pokémon and socialized only with humans. As a result, Hal gets along splendidly with people but not so much with other mons. The group was disbanded due to various reasons not too long ago.
Basil was asked to take care of Hal for the time being in an attempt to get him used to being among pokémon again.

Cutehelm (Shelmet)
This little fellow was abandoned by his previous trainer and taken in by Basil shortly before he left for Ohana.
He likes to boast but is really something of a coward; in battle he sticks to defensive tactics with the occasional outburst of courage.
His trust in humans isn't quite what it was, but Basil's not giving up on him.

Pix (Sylveon) ★
Pix is extremely affectionate and enjoys spending time with his trainer and other pokémon, team members or not.
He loves contests and often makes his battle moves far fancier than they strictly have to be.
He doesn't so much speak as communicate through song-like whistling sounds.
Pix came to Basil "falling out of a fairy circle". To this day there is no clear explanation as to where he came from.

Victor (Scizor)
Where the dragons can be a bit of a wild card, Victor is the exact opposite: he's quiet, disciplined and very much fixated on his trainer, always listening to his instructions to attack with absolute precision.
While caught in the wild (as far as Johto's National Park can be considered 'wild'), Basil suspects there are battle bred pokémon in his acestry.
