Description

Key points to the timeline

  • 1353

    • 90% of all Europeans die from the Black Death (No reason behind this)

      • The 60% death rate is still the same for the rest of the world

      • Anatolia is not considered part of Europe in this case

    • The rest of the world is slow to react but soon Granada, begin colonising the now desolate north

    • Ottomans having been pushed out of Anatolia migrate further north into Eastern Europe as well

  • 15th century

    • Tamerlane decides to attack China in fear of the destruction wrought by the plague in Europe

      • Chagatai and Northern Yuan easily falls to tamerlane, so does northern Tibet

      • The Gansu corridor falls quickly to Tamerlane, but his campaign is cut short due to his death in 1412

        • The Lan Dynasty is founded, named after the city of Lanzhou . It is led by Turkish descendants of Tamerlane, they continue to attack China and eventually unify China within the end of the century

    • The Tumu crisis occurs but instead of Oirats, it’s the Lan Dynasty and it’s northern subjects, which include the Four Oirats

      • The crisis results in the annexation of Northern China by the Lan Dynasty and Ming is reduced to a rump state in the south, that immediately falls into civil war

      • Taiwan is colonised by Ming refugees and Ming loyalists

    • Greek Kingdoms emerge in Anatolia, along with Kurdish, Armenian, Lazes and Turkish Kingdoms

  • 16th century

    • The japanese invasion of Korea is successful

    • Europe is almost completely colonised by Muslims

      • Iberia is mostly Moors and later Berber immigrants

      • The balkans are under Ottoman control

      • Much of Eastern Europe is colonised by Mongols and subjects, consisting of many turkic groups, Chinese and Persians

        • Note this is because in this timeline the Lan Dynasty has very close connections to the Timurid successor states and the Mongol successor states, such as the Golden Horde. This is because they claim to be heirs of Tamerlane and Ghenghis Khan, due to being descendants of Tamerlane and also having control over Mongolia. Kind of like the Ottomans claiming to be heirs to Rome

      • Scandinavia is claimed by many at this point but no real permanent settlements have been done by Islamic nations

        • Enclaves of nordic people’s coming from Iceland and Greenland are scattered loosely around the North Sea landmasses

      • France, now called Nsara, is settled by a group of migrants from all over the Islamic world, including Armenians, Yemenis, Arabs from the Levant and Northern Africa, Turks

        • This is due to the the more accepting and open nature of Nsara, being the only islamic nation which treats women and all ethnicities equally, unlike the Arab dominated sultanates of the rest of Dar Islam

        • They follow a new sect of Islam called Shīʿatu Nsara shortened to Shisara

    • Mughal Empire never appears due to extended occupation of Northern India by a stronger Timurid Empire

  • 17th century

    • A huge war erupts between the Jurchens and Lan Dynasty

      • Eventually in ends after Japan invades and subjugates the Jurchens

    • Due to a huge surge in islamic converts in Japan, the Shogunate chooses to isolate the entire nation

      • Thus Japan, Korea is completely cut off from trade with the world

      • Manchuria although nominally under japanese control, is completely autonomous as the Shogunate communicates to the subjugated Jurchens less and less due to his isolationist policy

      • The Kumamoto massacre occurs as the cities islamic adherents are all killed

    • China is unified under the Lan Dynasty

      • Taoists and Buddhists flee en masse into Taiwan and South East Asia and India, leading to North East India being very Chinese

        • Indonesia remained Buddhist in this timeline as well

        • The East Coast of America begins to be colonised by Buddhists fleeing persecution

    • The east Coast of the Americas begin to get colonised by Arab settlers, mainly by Shiites fleeing the rest of Dar Islam due to persecution

  • 18th Century

    • Large scale revolts in China with Taoist and Minority Religion rebellions occurring throughout southern China

    • India unifies under the Hyderabad Empire

    • Jurchens invade China dragging Japan into the war
