They always say never turn your back towards your enemy, but in Ashura's case I don't htink he has a problem. XD

True, so true. Even without the chaos attack all he needs to do is lunge backwards to skewer his opponent on his quills.

Woot, he can do that too? So those quills are not just for decoration! 
DMS's pose is great as well as Ashura's expression.

His quills are never for decoration.
Ashura and his brothers can do what is known as the spin attack, they curl up and spin rapidly. This transforms them into spinning saw blades with the quills doing the cutting. The Spin attack is the primary move of all characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog games, which Ashura is a fan character of.
Ashura just knows how to shot chaos spear out the quills for a surprise attack.
