!Please download for perfect resolution and quality!My submission for "RIFT Create a Colossus Contest".
I chose air because I liked it the most and because there has already been done so many things with the other elements.

I think you pulled off the swirly feel of the creature well with the brush strokes. There's also a good sense of depth from the creature to the sky - it feels like the sky expands far away! Your rendering skills are improving - what software are you sticking to these days? Photoshop, Painter or..?

Oh another idea.....maybe after he "vacuum's" stuff from the ground ...somewhere in the back of his neck, he keeps prisoners in a sort of cage (wind texture as well....or something else.....you figure it out

Oh sorry, I had no idea you had done something smililar. And no, yours is better IMO, like your technique alot more + it's a speed paint. Wish I could do nice speed paints too :/

Oh no problem at all...really, it's a cliche anyway. Maybe you should add some more character/ personality to your "tonado" colossus. As I did with the hands. I mean it is important to have something to be remembered. That tornado effect is good but not enough as character design in a contest matter. Just my opinion

Thanks for the feedback and help but I can't be arsed to make any changes to it now. I don't aim for a win either. Just saw it as a fun opportunity to make something new. You should enter though, looking at your pictures I think you might have a great chance to win something

I have a Ice Colossus (water planar) in my mind, but I bought a Wacom Intous 4 early and I dont know use very good with photoshop ... and upload a pencil drawing I am not convinced ... Can you give me some basic techniques to make in PS? ...

Thnkx so much! I really apreciate it ... I think to start with blanck and white metod, and then colour with the multiply or superimpose fusion ... it the most "easy" to start in my opinion, but I dont know because I dont test :S.
With respect to the ice colossus, I have that link recently and because of it I got the idea ... ahaha, now I have a "fire demon" colossus too, but I have many jobs and do not know if I'll get to make the first T_T ... I hope to make at least one.

Ice colossus sounds alot more cooler and more original. Fire element seems harder to make something original with since it's probably the most used element in drawings. Still, do what ever you'd like and good luck on doing it!

Yes yes, but first I do the Ice Colossus ... and then if I have time the fire demon colossus ... but I have some problems with the smoke effect and magma/lava effect in the body ... :S

I really love this, would be awesome if as the boss went through a zone he sucked up trees etc like in your concept picture. Best of luck with the competition!

Spooky, that mask reminds me of Darth Nihilus. Also of those priest guys from de Blob 2. Cool.
I really like the contrast of this guy's design; between the non-solid body made of tornadoes and the solid-looking mask-like head. I also like the light trailing from the head to the sky. It looks more like St. Elmo's Fire or something than true lightning, which adds to the supernatural look. It's also pretty cool how you made a light in the heavens look ominous when its often used as a symbol of hope or something.
