Description
On a distant world amongst many moons, eclipses are frequent. The nomads of this world take advantage of longer eclipse periods that can last hours at a time. Under the red eclipsed star the Junkers in great number, pull and heave at the ruined carcass of a derelict vessel marooned long ago. Their purpose, to glean the precious metals, melt down and make use for themselfs and their kin or sell to wealthy merchants.Related content

This is a cool scene - eclipses in general are interesting events because they so radically change the cycle of day/night and look so different, but the color scheme makes it more striking. Solar eclipses on Earth tend toward the bright white/yellow of our star, but something so lurid in color is like combining a harvest moon with the eclipse. Adding a bit of opportunism and alien landscape to the mix is a nice touch as well.

Some of my work like this are from dreams...reference wise the figurines were taken from a quick pencil sketch I did when attending a summer fete where there was a tug of war going on and it was interesting to quicly capture the people pulling at the rope.Β Sometimes I have an idea and pull out old sketches and thumbnail drawings to help convey my process. I have to admit I am inspired by the work of John Harris...his paintings influence me, so theres a similarity there.

And just to add...I also use elements from previous works I created, whether that be a texture an object or a pattern and build it into the work I do.
