They are mainly found in sub Saharan Africa and migrate up and down Africa depending on the season. 

This is the first time I have actually seen one perched when I have had my camera available .

I was alerted to their presence because when I walked into my lounge there was a pair of them sitting on the curtain rail inside. They flew around a bit and then went out through the sliding door which had been open. They came back inside a few times so obviously they were looking for a suitable place to build a nest. 

I managed to get my camera and take a shot as they were perched on the telephone wire outside . It is not a great shot as they are tiny birds and even at 400mm I had to crop most of the picture away to show the bird and it was also a difficult exposure against a bright blue sky in full sunlight so not the best photographic opportunity.
