It's just the entire thing about that this wasn't about some childish feud. The bullying or anything. This was because Severus was clueless to the fact Sirius was innocent. He thought that Sirius had turned the Potters, and therefore Lily, in. That he had been the cause of her death. That it was all his fault. She'd still be breathing, she was protected.
If you count the bullying feud, Sirius was there that day he lost Lily forever. Sirius was just as involved as James. Thick as thieves.
This scene is like he is wanted to kill him for all the times he ripped Lily from him. He believes Sirius played a massive part in destroying his, whatever type, relationship with Lily. That is was Sirius who helped rip that away. Even if Lily was with Potter she was happy. Maybe if Lily had stayed she would have been safer with Severus. He can't help think that and he'd never know. All his hate here as he tries to control himself. Like he just wants permission to end the life of the man who helped destroy his.
