Ah, haha, I'm not much in line with rattle styles but honestly, this, or anything you do, I am sure will be ridiculously cute. ;w;
The one I was remembering seeing, when I was trying to describe it, I couldn't find a picture of, but it was similar to this picture, except there was no donut with the flairs in the middle part; and looked a bit more like a traditional rattle... more straight, like a child could grip it in the middle, instead of where the blue "o" part is on the image.
They look so "simple" but, I think it's a deceptive appearance, and that this sort of accessory is actually really challenging to model, which is probably why I haven't been able to find one anywhere. I feel a little overwhelmed just from trying to find an image of what I remembered seeing. ;w; But if you make one, I will be ridiculously excited for my Kaito models to have it ;w;
