ugh, if you dont mind me asking but how exactly do you edit your pictures? im new with photoshop and stuff, and i havent yet firgured out how to edit my picture like this, or any of your others.

Its a very good photo.
I just think you should had said "pretty much not photoshoped" because it is. However, it doesnt matter! Every good photographer photoshops.

Ditto on the photo being a bit too sharp.
Subtlety is key with it. If you're using CS3, smart sharpen generally does better than Unsharp Mask. With either, try to stay below 100% and below 1px radius. Typically about 65% and 0.5px gets the most out of the shot without introducing artifacts.
You can then throw on a high pass filter at a low radius to add more visual pop from the photo without creating artifacts. Just duplicate your photo layer, run the high pass filter (Filter > Other > High Pass) and then set the layer blend mode to Soft Light instead of Normal.
