Konrad marched among the ruins, decimated by the monster they had just vanquished. Asylian soldiers and kngihts cried out in victory. They were free of threat, at least for now. A much welcomed break in the war that's been raging for centuries.

He was not glad - no, Konrad felt his world crashing down and every time he looked at the dented helmet of Norse, he felt a painful mixture of anger and sorrow. How dare they cheer and celebrate? How dare they be happy?

"Norse..."

The only bond that held the half-dragon to the humans he so despised was the the dead warrior. Why he did not turn around and transform to devour the despicable army in one gulp was lost to him...

Maybe Norse had given the adolescence more than just a job and a place to stay...maybe the mentor had shown him the warmth of companionship...the reason why human beings are still able to stand against evil even when the ancient races had fallen.

So the young warrior stood, staring at the blanked out eyes of Norse's helmet and contemplated as he listened to the raindrops pitter patter off his armor.
