UF3. I tried dozens and dozens of different color combinations and this one looked the best. What can I say, blue is my color.Edit 6-18-05: Posted a larger version upon request.

This piece has really interesting textures and hues Jeff.. nice work. I like the way it transforms from veritable simplicity to a cacophony of sights.. as your eyes move left to right.

You know, just for that I'm going to shift the new one I'm working on to blue.
I made one last night that is more greenish aquamarine colored, so it might take a bit to get to the blue one.

Thanks. Someone wanted a larger size so I reposted it. I have a green one also but I'm not too sure which is better. Love blue but the green is really bright and chearful.

I noticed that this was quite different than your more recent works. It's more fluid and curvacious than your other inorganic pieces I've seen (such as Technocracy; that reminded me of architecture, come to think of it), but it's definately not natural (like pieces such as Through the Forest). Also, the colors seem more bright and vibrant; it could just be me, though.
None of this is bad, just merely some musings on my part.

It's actually an older image, so I can completely agree with you. I posted a larger version upon request and it showed up again, so I'm having a new group of people see it. When I was making this the Dragonriders of Pern came to mind and how they were always fighting the threads that destroyed the land. Strange things that fell from the sky and were only destroyed by dragons fire. Old story.

Ah, Pern. I haven't read the novels, but in sixth grade my class read a Pern short story that mentioned the dragonriders fighting the threads.

It was the artwork on the covers that hooked me into reading that series. The White Dragon is still one of my favorite book covers.

Wow I like this, looks like some kind of futuristic architecture or sculpture. Great work, but nothing less is ever expected, after all you tone your images to perfection! Great colour, blue is my colour too, seems to fit in most places...

Fractal Explorer [link] makes traditional and abstract kinda work. Make sure you download all three sections and there's a tutorial here: [link]
Apophysis [link] is also free. It makes flame fractals that can be used in many ways.
I'm still a big fan of Ultra Fractal though [link] . It's not free but affordable and worth every penny. The capabilities are incredible because you can layer the image creating more complex and deep works.
