Description If I'm going to do my version of this, then I'm going to use the Revan I played KOTOR with.

Revan was such a reasonable person when I was the one playing the role.

Ok fun fact: since I am a TOR ignoramus, I originally thought revan was a guy and you just randomly changed him into a girl. Then I found out a few months ago that revan was a customizable person in KOTOR, with one of the options being FEMALE, like SWTOR's customize features.

Yep, that's what I reply with whenever people ask me why I did that. That it's just the Revan I played as.

Fair enough personally I always saw revan wearing his mask so that people who played him as a girl or guy can Identify to him.

Ahhh I love you! It was so disappointing they had to commit to a certain storyline when it was so different from what I played (I mean of course they had to but still). So YAY for this <3

Female Revan is clearly superior to male Revan. Because who would want Β to romance Bastilla over Carth? I mean, really. Also, playing female means that in flashbacks, Malak's getting bossed around by somebody who's half his size, which is kind of hilarious to watch.Β

Vader999 In reply to eregnar [2016-08-08 20:19:13 +0000 UTC]

Bastila is a funny, funny romance. Much better than Carth. Pissing her off is so much fun. That romance is far more fun than Carth. Carth comes off as whiny sometimes, whereareas Bastila is a fun tsundere who alternates between being a bitch and falling for me. She doesn't want to fall for me, but she finds herself falling for me anyways. It is always fun. Whereareas I imagine a female Revan falling in love with Canderous instead, since he can't stop fawning over Revan and he has the muscles and bad boy attitude to back it up.Β

eregnar In reply to Vader999 [2016-08-08 22:58:25 +0000 UTC]

See, the messing with Bastila bugs me. Sometimes it comes across more like harassment than flirting. However, no matter what you throw at Carth, he plays along and gives as good as he gets. It doesn't feel like either of you is disrespecting the other.Β

I definitely do think Canderous has a thing for female Revan, though. Especially with some of the things Kreia says to him in KOTOR 2.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to eregnar [2016-08-08 23:14:38 +0000 UTC]

How is it harassment? it's just words. Playing around. It's not my problem that she's easy to piss off. As for Carth, he either comes off as vengeful, whiny, or useless. He's a good soldier, but that's about it. Canderous was more interesting as a man and as a romance, because he has all those stories of war to tell, he's wiser and tougher when it comes to the battlefield, and he already adores female Revan. He's just the more logical choice for a romance. And speaking of KOTOR 2, his loyalty to FemRevan's roders can come off as something done out of more than respect. Perhaps romance was involved.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eregnar In reply to Vader999 [2016-08-10 00:15:41 +0000 UTC]

It feels like harassment because she's clearly irritated by it, and the character keeps doing it anyway. Have you ever experienced unwanted flirting? I haven't many times, but when it does happen it's incredibly uncomfortable. It's a difference of interpretation, I suppose, and it's certainly not the worst Bioware romance out there (*cough* James Vega *cough*), but it rubs me just a little bit wrong, so I don't enjoy it nearly as much. And her attitude bugs me. Carth's polite and respects you from the beginning. Bastilla's a bit too stuck-up for my taste. She mellows a bit, sure, but still.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to eregnar [2016-08-10 00:34:41 +0000 UTC]

It's called playful teasing. It isn't harmful by the least. All the male Revan does is fire off some jokes. It's not his fault that Bastila is easy to piss off. In fact, Revan's jokes are hardly flirtatious. Sometimes Bastila gets angry because Revan answered a stupid question with a joke. Carth's a whiny crybaby sometimes, and outside of being a decent shot and a tragic backstory, doesn't have much. Canderous seems to be the better, wiser man, not to mention more respectful and interesting.

There's cut content from the canon Clone Wars show that portrays Revan as male.Β

But to each their own.Β

Well I feel oppiste. How do you explain the fact that Bastilla had a child? You can't dispute that. Her (and Revans) decedents are are in SWTOR.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

eregnar In reply to RogueCaptain24 [2016-08-06 15:55:01 +0000 UTC]

In my head canon (ya know, that ignores the incorrect genders ) Bastilla married somebody else and had a son, and Revan and Carth had a daughter before Revan disappeared. Those two ended up marrying. It works, and lets me keep my preferred genders.

I'm happy for you that your preferences match up with canon, though. It requires less mental gymnastics.Β

I prefer male exile because the interactions with Atris are a lot more entertaining if you play a guy. The romances are about equal in that one. Atton and the Handmaiden are awesome for different reasons, the Disciple is cute but an idiot and Visas is kinda creepy.Β

RogueCaptain24 In reply to eregnar [2016-08-06 17:48:34 +0000 UTC]

What I'm saying is I enjoy the fact more than what is made up. I can't say I paarticurly approve of that theory, but whatever float your boat. And yes. when I played male exile, I did enjoy playing as male exile. I never played Female exile, but I do view the exile as female. Just don't know how that ended out.

I have to say, saying you enjoy the "fact" of a Star Wars thing over what is "made up" made me chuckle. Yes, I know what you meant. The thing is, I played KOTOR and KOTOR 2 before I was aware of SWTOR, so my head-canon was already set. The gender change was annoying, so, for my own enjoyment, I decided to ignore it.Β

eregnar In reply to ARavingLooony [2016-07-20 16:23:31 +0000 UTC]

Were you male or female? He has some pretty entertaining stuff to say if you flirt with him. Also, one could just as easily say Bastilla does nothing but strut around self-righteously with her nose in the air. It's all a matter of taste, I suppose.Β

I also kiiiiinda fell in love with Raphael Sbarge's voice, so there's that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to eregnar [2017-08-09 21:34:29 +0000 UTC]

The funny thing about Bastila is that yes, she does start off as self-righteous, but if you play the game light side, she begins to feel inadequate because you instinctually do good things while she has to struggle to remain in the Light. It makes her feel inadequate and vulnerable, almost as if your light is overshadowing hers, and she feels conflicted over it.

It's so juicy that it's delicious. Especially when I do start teasing her.

I also kinda love Jennifer Hale's voice, so there's that.

and if you mean scourge.... XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aemixx In reply to LatinoGamer123 [2015-09-21 01:41:54 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I meant Carth--There is a 5 year gap between Carth and Revan first meeting in KOTOR 1 and Carth meeting the exile in KOTOR 2, and in KOTOR 2 he tells you, "I have waited for her to come back for almost four years." So their relationship lasted at most one year before she left for Imperial space. He also talks about how even when they were together, her past kept coming back to her and creating a wall between them, so it sounds like they didn't get much chance to really enjoy each other's company.

This is the video I double-checked to make sure I was remembering the dialog correctly: www.youtube.com/watch?v=knhuDS…

Although the idea of her getting involved with Scourge is interesting! I know Revan really earned Scourge's respect, and it might have made sense for them to be lovers for a time. Though I think my own Revan would have been too mission-driven and homesick for Carth to do that.

If you're going this route, why not just write your own story for Revan? I'm making my own, and he winds up being the leader of the Republic after Janarus loses the seat of Supreme Chancellor.

If the Eternal Empire is supposed to be something of a utopia, I can see some people's characters wanting to join it. Unless there's something we have yet to learn about it that would make them not want to do that after all.

Actually, the real reason my Wrath joins the Eternal Empire is this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACsw57…
He's loyal to his old man. To the end.

However, my male Sith Inquisitor will be taking control of the Sith Empire in Vitiate's absence and, with the help and blessing of the ancient Sith spirits, he becomes the next Emperor after Vitiate is pronounced dead.Β
