Your wonderful photo is featured: Night RunThe true race in life is not run only in the daylight, but on unpaved roads bare of streetlights, where we can only see by the stars or the light we carry, where no crowds cheer and the finish line is only a beacon of the mind. We persevere, we endure and do not give up, for the prize if we run right, if we 'fight the good fight', is worth all the self-searching, hardship and suffering. We are reminded that the trials of this life pale in comparison to our eternal destination, and are encouraged by the example of the God who dwelt atime among us, {Hebrews 12:2} fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who for the joy set before Him [of saving us] endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" [to be our advocate] I hope you'll enjoy the excellent art here and the music video which is actually by another Deviant Artist, ChineseLung. As always, thanks for watching and have a blessed week! Love in Christ, -Debra Have an awesome day! -Debra

You'll love it. I have so many pictures of the scenery when I did it in October with my dad. The views are just gorgeous. But yeah it is tough

How many days? I've read 5 should be fine, but I'd like o take many pictures and it takes time I'm thinking about a week or so?

It took me and my dad a week. It's a 96 mile walk so we walked around 11 to 15 miles a day (I can't be exact). But it's worth every step of the journey. For example, the view from the top of Conic Hill has one of the most breathtaking pieces of scenery you have ever seen. Just be sure to pack lightly, since you'll be going up a lot of hills. You should have no problem bringing a camera and a tripod along for the journey, just make sure you have waterproof casings for them as the weather can get rainy really quickly (but I suppose I don't need to tell you that ).Β

I climbed Conic Hill, truly amazing I always take a camera and 2 lenses (one for landscapes and one for taking pictures of the dog) + tripod. That's heavy but good pictures require effort hehe. And every time I go hiking my gear gets wet, but it's still working so it's not that bad. I just need to find out about shops etc. because I bet carrying food for whole week is inconvenient.

For food, I recommend just getting quick snacks from a shop. Just something to give you energy along the way. Save your main appetite for the evening, you'll appreciate it more. What you'll be carrying sounds just about the right weight for doing it, so you should be fine. When my dad and I did it, the coach service that carries your stuff to the next hotel wasn't operating. So we had to carry these huge rucksacks with all our clothes, books, shoes and other stuff, making the journey 10 times harder than what it's meant to be XD Β

I probably won't be sleeping in any hotels - just tents I like wild camping more and I want to sleep close to the mountains to get the best pictures.

I wish we did it that way, but we were carrying enough as it was. I would recommend finding somewhere to at least dry your clothes if they got soaking wet. Nothing's worse than hiking in soggy boots and socks. As for mountains, there are plenty to camp out under, such as The Black Rock and even Ben Nevis. I just wish I had taken better pictures of them. I was only using my phone camera. I'm no photographer, believe me Β Β

Yeah, we could stay at hotel for one night or something. Every time I hike it's raining for at least 15 minutes and sometimes that's enough to get you soaking wet I think the only way of drying clothes and shoes is by bonfire but sometimes there are no branches around. I gotta plan this well before I go.

I camped with my boyfriend before and it wasn't so bad even with the camera gear and all it was doable.Β We even had to actually climb a bit on Isle of Arran.Β I think the backpack was around 16kg or so. Plus, I have funny "saddlebags" for my dog so I won't have toΒ carry his stuff

I agree with drying your clothes by a bonfire. Sometimes a radiator just isn't enough. Found that out on day 4. One final piece of advice I would give is definitely plan your journey. Know exactly when you want to wake up and start moving out so you aren't wandering around without any sense of direction. The path can get rather dangerous at night, especially on when you walk past Loch Lomond. One wrong step and you can fall in. Also you might as well pick up the WHW journal when you start. For each location, a hotel stamps a spot in the journal to show you've been there. It's just a fun little game that passes the time.

Anyway, that's all the advice I've got. Hope it was useful Β  Β
