Brilliant lighting and angle. even the flowers vibrant colour is reflected by her left eye. The colour of the jumper works allthough the position of it seems a little lumpy/large/frumpy/in the way. The over all effect of the colorus and composition is fairly high impact yet retaining an air of mystery and subtleness created by teh shadows! Brilliant!

For me its what isn't in the picture that is so striking. The lighting pulls my eyes to her profile. The eyes and lips - slightly open, searching - give a feeling of intensity - a moment. What is she looking at, what is she feeling - thats where we (I) the viewer comes in to write the story. Is she alone, lost in thought, looking at a beautiful sky to match the light. Is she happy, wistful for things that have passed or things soon to be. Is she looking at a lover, soon to be kissed - or the lover gone and she is left with a memory. This is why I am drawn in - taking the beauty of what is presented and feeling it through my own experience.

something about that dramatic chiaroscuro on her face, that contemplative expression, and the perfect balance between the crisp and the blurry... really draws me in. It's like I'm captured in this quiet moment.
