This is my First CG. I know, it's God-awful. But... I tried. I want you ALL to leave DETAILED CRITIQUES on what I can do to get better, okay????I already know that the first one is that I need to get a tablet. And then... after that... please tell me. Because I have no clue, and I'm feelin left high n dry on teh world of CG. When I get good at it, which I'm prone to do...
I'm kinda down today. My bro is all being mean to me... he wants to be on the computer, and he's been on all day. This is my first time on, and he has threatened to cut power and all that stuff... totally raining on my parade... But it's okay, I'm posting my first CG!!!!
Ed and Winry. I know, Ed isn't that tall. But if you notice, they both look a little older. So I'm blaming it on the fact that he grew up or sommit nonsense like that.
I hope we go back to school tomorrow, even though it flooded over... for me, that means that I'll be hit in the head and killed by a falling ceiling tile. In that case, Eliza can easily guess my password and tell everyone I'm dead...
I hope I don't die, I have too many drawings left unfinished... and I wanna play in the U of I Marching Band...I'm too young to die...

IT DOES NOT LOOK GOD AWFUL!!!!, It looks very good for your first! keep it up. And listen to what Funnybird and all them said, because I have no idea what CG is, and what it does. I fear I am only intelligent enough to master the pencil. :gloom:

lol, don't feel bad about that at all. I've mastered the pencil too. That was what I was told to do before moving on to CG, just so that I would appreciate it more. And I do. Naturally. Stupid professional artists... :: gloomy, indeed ::
CG is computer graphics. It's basically anything you see that was done on the computer. Is that explanation enough? I hope so, because I don't know how I can be any more broad...

Sorry you feel bad! *Biiiig hug* I was just drawn to this because...well, let's face it. Not nearly enough people draw Ed and Winry together even though they're a perfectly legitimate couple and oh so cute. Ed may be slightly too tall, but it's such a cute gesture...let's just assume he's standing on a stepladder, ne? ^_^;;
Critique? The way I see it, there are several things that you could work on, should you see it fit. With shading, try to make it a little more noticeable. With highlights, try not to use pure white. Study from life! The colours of objects depend a lot on reflected colours and are never pure black or gray. Objects can almost be divided up into flat surfaces; some face the light source and some don't. By this basis, there will be shadows on entire planes (eg. the entire side of Ed's arm, not just defining his muscles.)
Your lineart is fine! You've definitely got the likenesses of the characters. Just worry about their proportions for now.
As well, try working with layers. I notice that your colouring is overlapping some of your lines. If you put the lineart on a layer on top and colour on the bottom layer, this probably wouldn't happen.

I had a professional painter(my soon to be boss) tell me the stuff about shading, too. I guess that I just sort of... forgot?
I know!!! I never see Ed and Winry together!!!!!!!!!! I always see Ed and Al, and I'm just like, ummmmmm..... is it safe for brothers to be doing those sorts of things???

shading on skin was nice`
on dark clothes, like Ed is wearing~
leave white area to show reflection, look better and shaded~~~~

Wow, I love it! Winry's eyelashs are a little weird and her eyes brows are a bit uneven but other than that, it perfect!
