Description
My latest sculpture, I really like this one!I had originally intended to make another Wyvern like Furia, but with wintery blues instead of fiery reds. The mokume gane mix I made for the nose and tummy guard went through the pasta machine one too many times, so I ended up just mixing it up completely. It made a pretty winter blue mix, so I figured I'd work with it a bit. The result: Snowdrop, and a couple of as-yet-unnamed sculptures that I will post later on. She came out of the oven a bit darker than she went in, due to all the translucent clay in the mix, but I still like the way she turned out. I am working on experimenting with my poses a bit more, since I noticed I had three different dragons in the exact same pose (which looks nice, but gets a bit boring).

What do you use for clay? How did you get it translucent like that? It reminds me of some my little ponys. Also, what do you use for the wing membraine?

Do you put armatures in all the extremities or do they stay that way without? It looks like it would take several bakings!
I love the pose. I'm not tired of it. Great color, too.

This one actually stayed up without an armature of any sort, and only required one baking. Sometimes I do have to stick some wires in the legs and wings to hold them up, but with little ones like this they stand up pretty well on their own (or with the help of strategically placed napkins and cottonballs while I bake them).
I like her colour, too, though I do still wish it had stayed the light powdery blue it was before baking.

Thank you! Sparkliness is good. I'm currently working on another dragon with what was left over of the clay mix from this one, but I've added crimson to it.
