I was actually planning on doing a drawing with SpongeBob and Rocko together, but after seeing 's tribute to Stephen Hillenburg, my original idea looked a little bland. So I'd thought I make something more special that honored him better.

Personally, I think Stephen's work on Rocko's Modern Life should be just as celebrated as his own show. When Rocko was airing again on Nicktoons Network, I was able to recognize Hillenburg's name in a lot of the opening credits. And learning how he and a lot of other SpongeBob crew members originated from Joe Murray's own show, and noticed all the parallels the two shared, it made me appreciate Rocko's Modern Life even more as kinda the spiritual precursor to SpongeBob SquarePants. And the episode "Fish n' Chumps". You could tell that had Stephen's fingerprints all over it, being the writer and director. Which makes that one of my favorite episodes.

Also, if you remember in "Hooky", one of the fish hooks had cheese on them. Could that have been a mythology gag to Stephen's previous job? I'd like to think so.
