I learned this last week from my mother, that pretty soon Sesame Street will have a new character with Autism, trying to educate kids on how kids on the spectrum and how they're different from regular kids. I dunno know about you, but that's pretty awesome. Heck, I might watch the show again just to see how they handle it.Julia (c) Sesame Workshop

Seeing as I'm autistic myself, and Sesame Street was the very first television show I was introduced to, I'm very grateful to the people behind this character and to the show for acknowledging the existence of such a mental deficiency.

I don't know if she will be on the regular show or in one of the special videos, such as the ones they've done for children dealing with tough issues like parents who are in the service or incarcerated.Β It would be great ig she was on the regular show; the lessons would reach many more kids then.
