Description
Although Lavos is defeated at the end of Chrono Trigger, it does not actually die. In an effort to regain its power, it attaches itself to Schala, the princess of Zeal whom it had previously trapped outside the flow of time. Schalaβs original personality slowly disappears as Lavos takes control of her, until the two of them become a single being called the Time Devourer. A major element in the story of Chrono Cross, the sequel to Chrono Trigger, is to try and save Schala from this fate. This picture is intended to symbolize something, and some people might be able to guess what it is if they can remember who Schala reminds me of. But to anyone else, this is just a piece of Chrono Trigger / Chrono Cross fanart.

Looks like a Cambrian Wiwaxia... lol
I still don't understand in which part of the (great, fantastic, marvelous, incredible, etc) game the color combination for defeating lavos is shown...

Are you able to see where Schala herself is in this picture? It's kind of hard to see her, since I didn't spend a lot of time on this. She's just to the right of Lavos's "mouth", with one of its tentacles wrapped around her shoulders.

Well, now that you mention it, yes. I thought that was just a single eye bulging out of the...uh, what appears to be a fleshy mass.
