Description
Although Lavos is defeated at the end of Chrono Trigger, it does not actually die. In an effort to regain its power, it attaches itself to Schala, the princess of Zeal whom it had previously trapped outside the flow of time. Schala’s original personality slowly disappears as Lavos takes control of her, until the two of them become a single being called the Time Devourer. A major element in the story of Chrono Cross, the sequel to Chrono Trigger, is to try and save Schala from this fate.
