Are there any conifers in that state? Because this insect develops id dead conifer wood.

Pines and cedars. There is a new type of Long Horned Beetle here. It is considered an invasive species.

To change the subject. Do you have *Dynastes Titus Beetles where you are? We have a few here, they are just starting to appear.

I m in Hungary. We have rhino beetle, but not the same species (Oryctes nasicornis)

I looked up both species. They are both beautiful beetles. Ours has different coloration and the "horns" are shaped differently too.
