Description Here I've done as best as I could to recreate the same exact view from the very start of Myst. I think I did a good job on making the gear - though it's a simple brush right now, and the G-Man is right where I want him to be at the start of this mod: He'll be there for a few seconds, then vanish in a flash of light with the sound of a Linking Book being used. The gear can rotate, but only at a certain point and not visible to the player.
To add some realism, I added much more handrails on the dock platform and all around the gears, along with some fancy lights, since it's meant to be nighttime.
I hope, that with one more week left in my online classes, I'll have all the time in the world during summer to get more done on this project - and maybe my leg will heal while I'm at it and I'll be able to walk fully again!

I don't really like G man being there. Part of what I always found so intimidating about the island was the oppressive solitude.

This mod's long since been scrapped, but the plan was, the G-Man would be there for a few seconds, then vanish as if he used a Linking Book. Also, this wasn't the actual Myst island, but an Earth-based copy that's bombarded with headcrab shells.
The goal was to search every part of the island to evacuate the survivors and leave the island before the zombies overrun everybody.

Looks a bit... dark for Myst.  I do like the G-man being there, though.

It's supposed to be raining like what you see at the bad ending of Myst 5, I haven't gotten there yet. And actually, the G-Man is supposed to disappear when you start by using a Linking Book, sound and all. I'll be cheating here because you won't be able to see a book at that distance.

So THAT'S what he uses that briefcase for.

When I do get that far, if you go up there to see, a 9mm pistol will be where he was, as if he left it behind for the player. Actually, there's a cut texture in HL1 that shows a gun was in there, so that's what I'm basing it on. He appears again in an ending cutscene that shows 3 panoramas of other ages:
* Stoneship or channelwood (which would be easier to build?) with zombies.
* A junction in the caves of Selenitic with Combine Soldiers at the dead-end tracks
* And K'veer with Father Grigori as Atrus (he looks like Atrus). G-man would be standing to the right of the desk as I did in that picture.
One thing I can't figure out is what he would say as a variation of "Perhaps the ending has not yet been written". What would he say?

I have a lot more info that I haven't gotten to yet. Hammer Editor isn't even wanting to run my map at this point, yet I have so much planned. Reply if you want to know what it is!
