Description

Boy am I going to worry about losing that little guy.

After getting that last Ariel figure, I figured it was time I got a good Rapunzel figure.  And since she's never made an appearance at a Disney Store in the form of a Disney Big Fig, I went with the Beast Kingdom figurine again, knowing how well they did with Ariel.

Well, here's the thing with Punzie;  she's solid, but not nearly as solid as Ariel is.  While the base is solid, her hair and her foot don't quite line up on the base like you'd expect; and it was far too easy to scratch up the base getting her to settle in the cutaways in the base correctly.  Likewise, Pascal is really REALLY flimsy; he barely fits into her hand at all and though there are two little pegs in her hand, Pascal doesn't seem to sit solidly in her hand at all.  Never mind how hard a time I had finding him in the box; just moving the assembled figure after taking a few photos I had to get on the floor and look all over for him again once he fell off from a simple jostling.  Hence, until I bring the figure upstairs, he's going to hang from a plastic bag.

If I had the chance, I'd give this figure three stars instead of five, where the Ariel figure with Flounder got a five out of five just because it's so much more durable.

On the plus side, the detail on her hair is great, and her dress is well detailed also- beneath her, the white of her slip doesn't allow for any naughty viewing so don't get your hopes up.  That said, I don't regret the purchase; I just will have to do some digging to see if there's a more solid way to get Pascal to not fly off if he's near an open window or anything - I mean seriously, a passing breeze could knock him loose.  Still, a good figure and I've always been in love with the character even from the days when the film came out, never mind the old fairy tale - always thought Disney did a pretty good job with this one, taking the character and making them their own, when the old stories were very scant and never really finished up the details of the plot which, given Punzie's characterization, was really fleshed out well.

Why didn't they try a live action Tangled, anyway?  Wait, no, don't ruin that one too...

Punzie and Pascal are probably owned by Disney.
