It could fit for Sega Master System/Game Gear. The NES can handle only 3 colors for the single object.

I know some games with for example 5 colors per object.

Possibly the Capcom game. Capcom had their tricks to use more colors for their games. The most popular one was the black background used by many other companies (especially by Nintendo in early 80's) giving the outline illusion. Or the strange way is making the character and his eyes as two different objects (making the eyes colorful, cartoonish and give them blinking animation. For example Mega Man or Duck Tales).
Ok. So to be honest. Actually every 8x8 square can handle 3 colors. Of course you can change the color on the square, but that's rather too risky since the NES can handle max 32 colors on the screen.
