Description Continuing with the poster tributes for spoooooky kinds of movies, here we have the Kickline cast showing off the kind of campy horror-sci-fi movie that would be a prime turkey for an episode on MST3K. It is fun to see how many old sci-fi movie posters looked like comic book covers... or is it vice-versa?

The denizens of Goof's are the brave travelers to Planet Z, where they are called to take on the fearsome being that terrorizes the planet! Go the the drive-in's lobby for a snack and head back to your car for the fun fantastical frivolity of The Being from Planet Z!!!

Kickline and its characters belong to me. So does the artwork.

Comments and suggestions welcome. Enjoy!

Goddammit this made me smile. Everything is super on point.
The girls are feisty yet still sexualized, goof and Rick look extra heroic (loving the pugilist pose for Rick. That's just swell).
Of course, I love the zipper on the costume. That's just icing.
I love when you do things like this because it's so obvious you're working with material you love, or at least respect.

Aww, you're too kind. I enjoy this kind of kitschy cheese a ton, so even bigger pics like these are always more fun than headache for me. I'm just glad that you could enjoy as well. Thanks for the comment, and let's hope that this crew escapes on one piece!

Very cool retro poster!
I like that Being from Planet Z has such a frightened face!

Well, when all of Goof's fearless space crew takes on a creature, there's no stopping them! Thanks a lot for the comment and support here, Elena.

The retro vibes and the campiness are very strong with this one. Smashing job with this, especially the posing and the outfits, and I see you spared no expense on showing off the low-budget look too.

As charming as it is retro!Β  These characters do seem right at home in this setting, admittedly.

Excellent work here!

I am admittedly a fan of retro cheese, so I'm not surprised with that assessment. Thanks a lot for the comment and support!

Heyyyy, great to see the girls in their NASA-accurate spacesuits again, and this time with a couple of the lads in tow!

Nice details on the planet strings and the alien zipper, it really gives you a good impression of what kind of film this is!

Growing up with MST3K and other bad space movies, this one was a no-brainer of a choice for a movie poster. Glad you could enjoy the cheesiness of this one, always appreciated!

I was going MORE for a 50s/early 60s vibe, so Star Trek was not a big influence for this pic in particular. Thanks anyway.

Fun for EARTHLING families??? Sorry, no deal for me....me and my alien family need some decent entertainment, too! >:C

This is a fantastic piece, Rich! I love the use of faded colours and the aging poster paper is a nice touch, as well! And of course, everyone looks adorable

Well done on this spooky spacey pic! Β

Yes, they had to have a tentacle octopus to go for the girls in outer space pre Kang and Kodos, how ironic.

Japanese tentacle monsters can be a bit sick looking when exposed by a unaware web surfer.

I think I saw something like this in the August 5th, 1962 issue of the Sheldon, North Carolina newspaper. The ad said:

Coming this Summer to our local drive in theatre!

Join the Space League on an adventure to protect all of the galaxie from the adomination of THE BEING FROM PLANET Z!

So grab your best girl, some buttered popcorn, and your hot ride and head over to the Raccoon Meadow Drive-In Theatre for

THE BEING FROM PLANET Z!

The issue also said thatΒ Marilyn Monroe died and we were on the verge of a Missile Crisis with Cuba and the Soviet Union and most notibly that the Knoxville & Asheville Railroad was due to retire it's last steam locomotive on the 29th of August.
