Description EDIT: I don't normally make such drastic changes like texture, title and even signature changes, but I felt this pic was good enough to represent my art in an work-related art show. Anyone who wishes to have the original posted back, please let me know and I can do that for a scrap. Otherwise, wish me luck!

Why do some pics that start out simple enough turn out to be much bigger pics than planned? Sometimes that's the magic of drawing I suppose.

Nonetheless, this is a part of a trade pic with who wanted to see a 1958-1960 Ford Thunderbird, commonly known as the Squarebird. Truth be told I was never a huge fan of the car, but I can appreciate the boxy late 50s style and acknowledge that that this came after one of the toughest automotive acts to follow ever.

So with a blatantly 50s car, I loaded up on all 2 of my Bobby Darin tracks and went to town on the idyllic suburban paradise that this car belonged to. Yes, my last pic was also a retro Thunderbird pic with Good and Alison, but why not continue with what works? And this time I felt much more happy with the retro-modernistic house too! Those little charming 1 1/2 story ranches always made me smile.

The Thunderbird belongs to the Ford Motor Corporation. Goof and Alison belong to me. So does the artwork.

Comments and suggestions welcome. Enjoy!

Alison here reminds me a bit of Andy's OC April.

I'd say there's more of an echo of May in here new hairdo and demeanor.

Beautiful job on the car. That is really detailed work. Love the warm and cozy suburban look and feel of the house and yard. I notice you really have grasped the art of shading since you started using Gimp two years ago. Great job.
