this is a very nice series overall! sometimes standing your ground against the freaking cold pays off !
with all due respect i think the top right corner could be even darker (again the railing spoils it a bit for me).
as I understand it from one of your comment replies you did the darkened part with the gradient tool. have you tried using a lasso selection with above 70 feather and pulling down the curves line? it's usually more inconspicuous.
if you do try it, do it in greyscale mode and then put the colour in so that you don't have diferrence in colour density from light to dark parts.
I gave it a try with your image. can I show it to you?

Thanks very much for taking the time for such a detailed and thoughtful comment. No I have never tried this method you suggest re the lasso and feathering, but will for sure try it. Yes I would be interested in seeing what you did with it. I guess that the railing is pretty much a matter of personal preference and for me I like it in but I guess that it won't be to everyone's taste. I particularly like this stretch of coastline in Dublin, so recording as is with my own style is interesting to me. Thanks again for such a detailed comment.

n.p.! your images are worth the time.
you're right, it's up to ones taste, and I know sometimes comments like the one I made above can be annoying (that's what the "with all due respect" was all about). I just make such comments because I myself am sometimes a bit unsure about an image and a comment like that could help. since you have it figured out it doesn't matter how I or anyone else might do it. the photos rock anyway!

Another lovely picture from you Eugene. Great to see contempary work in these days of hellish weather. It's rained for 4 or 5 weeks pretty much non-stop here ;-(
Heavy atmosphere, a nice composition, maybe a tad dark upper right as Denis mentions, but water and overall tone is excellent for me.
Nice done my man.
Best wishes-
Andy

Thanks Denis. This is a different kind of shot for me and I learn all the time from comments and I appreciate you sharing yours with me. With this one I also used the gradient tool, but maybe a bit over strong! Thanks again.

Nice how graduated the tones are ... the dark add subtility and a great atmosphere to the composition. In fact, for me, it's what make the shot !
