Description
So I'm going to post this as a deviation and not a scrap.. because it took a lot of work despite what you all may think lol. This picture is made with india ink, a straw, some water, strips of tape, and at times a pen. It was a lot harder to create than you might imagine, lol. I like it, its probably my favorite thing I've done in my Design class so far.
Yay abstract!
I'm new at this type of art.. what do you think?
The only requirement was that it had to be verticle mostly, other than that we could do whatever we wanted.

I love the effects India ink can make, it may be hard to control but usually the after effect is quite unique and beautiful. How did you get that tree look? because I get the same effect by just blowing on it or holding the paper up all vertical like, and
I just want to know if there is an easier way to get that look.

I don't if there is an easier way.. all I know is that I used pretty much the same method as you. I love how it turned out

This is amazing. Anything that I do like this turns out to be quite unappealing because of the composition, but this one is truly beautiful.

Please.
I'll Lick you anywhere you want anytime you want if you sell me it, Unless of Course you're under eighteen, over forty, a man, or a chimpanzee taught how to write.
It's the coolest Immaculate freehanded Ink Drawing I've ever seen. It's subliminal and pure Abstract Surrealism to a point of visual stockholm's.

Before I saw this....I was in a rut, Sitting on the floor in the corner of a barricaded dark room shaking with paranoia sinking into my bones. Now, I still am, But now, I'm shaking in fear and eating Trix Cereal.

Very nice work. I wouldn't be so tentative in your description of it as it seems you are. There is both talent and originality here. Well done.

Nicely done! very good composition, it moves my eye around the entire piece; the whole piece looks likes it's swirling. I liked how you taped off some areas but you still went back to draw inside. Overall this is a very successful piece. ^_^
How big is this piece? You should definitely make one that's HUGE! Well not that huge...like 48" X 60" or something or even bigger. That way it totally over powers the viewer and envelopes them.

yeah this one is probably 12" by 16" or something.. I'll have to measure the illustration board. it would be hella fun to make a huge one.. I may just do it someday.. xD

I enjoy this a lot. Its incredible because it is hand drawn where most of the abstract you see on here lately is all brushes and digital (including mine). There's a lot of emotion with the chaotic imagery, thats extremely open to interpretation.

I really like this image. It has a great graphic quality to it. It's amazing what one can convey with just white, black, and the grays inbetween.
I see the hint of tree branches and roots. It makes me think of a frantic run through a forest, like images patched together over the course of a few seconds.

How about some stream-of-consciousness evaluations? Perhaps the distorted faces of souls in the classical Greek underworld? A frenetic chase through the woods?
All in all, very interesting, but I suppose all abstract art is that way in a "Choose Your Own Adventure" sort of mode.

that's really really good. show's you have alot of talent with a pen. you should combine your other styles with this one. cause I know you like doin anime, but you don't really do alot of backgrounds. anyways, just a thought.

yeah thats a good idea Actually I'm not so much into anime.. I just draw cartoons and they end up looking anime-ish. But I actually dont want any animes at all.. lol, its funny.
Thanks for the tip, I want to do more pen work in the future

yea I know what you mean, I'm getting kinda sick of all the "cookie-cutter" anime thats everywhere nowadays. So I'm doing my best to try to combine anime and u.s. style comics. cause I think that would roxor.

Beautifully done, give me the impression of a somewhat spooky forest for some reason. The way it almost looks alive and the movement it seems to portray is incredible to say the least
