when i was a kid, there was a gas station out in the country where we lived that had a sign on it advertising "AMMUNITION AND GREETING CARDS". (yes, i'm from the south) That is the kind of place this might be: a last chance fuel stop for intergalactic truck drivers. heh!(probably too much going on here, but hey, i was having fun)

A nice piece, but it was your comment that got me to see it in a whole new way. I've lived near a place that advertised "Guns, Milk, Liquor, Live Bait". Rural is rural, north or south. Maybe it ought to have a sign.

good work. it is interesting to read the comments and see how others are interpreting it. my first reaction was that the guy in the suit looks bedraggled, like he has walked a long way in the rain ? if so, why? and what is he going to do now ? buy ammo ? a greeting card ? or both ? probably needs a cup of coffee first...

The awful weather is perfect for compounding the feeling that this is the last stop before heading off into the void. Pretty interesting atmosphere you've put together. Looks like such an out of place construction, that big-ass outpost out in the middle of what looks like a vast, empty highland.
