Great improvement! Your 2002 drawings all have the characters smiling. You start seeing more emotions conveyed through their facial expressions a year later. Very cool seeing it all laid out side-by-side. I absolutely adore your 2005 Rowena!

As i find the first drawings already beautiful i wouldn't say, that it's really that much "improvement", but more a thing of a completely new choice of media and style...
for pencils the first edition is really good, but you will never be able to do the same with them as you can with the pc oder more professional pens, inks, colors so thats the main "improvement".
and the style... kinda looks that you went from something idealized disney-like to a more realistic kind of drawing by the time you've reached CG... impressing nonetheless. but more a matter of two different styles

p.s. i like the first edition of Godric and Salazar the most, because the art looks somehow like "real" medieval pictures... quite a good choice for 1000 year old mighty wizards i feel

Phoebus was the first Disney hero to have facial hair (except for... you know... actual animal characters who had copious amounts of facial hair). Awesome progress!

Now that you mention it, Phoebus was really the first human Disney guy to have a beard... weird!

blue-nadir In reply to AgiVega [2006-02-05 11:51:18 +0000 UTC]

And I can't really think of another Disney hero since Phoebus that had a beard! Tarzan SHOULD really have had a beard because, I mean, where do you get razorblades in the jungle?

Yeah, that's right. He should have had a beard...

Wow! You really have improved a lot, it's incredible! Your first Salazar DOES look like Phoebus, as someone else pointed out. That's funny. I'd say your getting into CG made a big difference. I really like your Helga from 2003, though; there's something beautifully Disney-ish about the way you drew her.

Glad you like my 'Helga2003'. And yeah, getting into CG improved my shading a lot - and not only in the CG area but in pencil arts as well. Somehow, it made me bolder when it came to shading - now I DARE use the pencils and create shadows

You've definately improved, and seeing how you were good in the beginning..

My favorite one out of all of them has to be Helga in 2003. I love the expression on her face.

Heh, your first Salazar looks like Pheobus from Hunchback of Notre Dame. There's definitely improvement. It's a pity I don't have that same kind of talent. *pout*
