Edit in September: I didn't like the fact that Laurence's ear was showing, so I put some hair on it.
He looks nicer this way.

Whew, the folds in their clothes pretty much killed me.
Characters: Captain William Laurence and Admiral Jane Roland from Naomi Novik's Temeraire series.
As for my choice of title: I really don't think they're meant to be. They're sort of a couple, but their relationship consists merely of sex, there's no love between them. She's an admiral, he's just a captain. He once proposed to her, she rejected. She's using him as nothing else but her sex toy, and Laurence deserves more than that. He deserves to be loved.
In this picture she's trying to coax him to herself for a bit of "fun", but he no longer cares. Btw, don't ask why I put them on a ship. I just felt like so.
Also, don't take me wrong, I don't hate Jane (not like I hate for example Minerva Paradizo in Artemis Fowl...), I just don't care for her. I still think her little daughter Emily would be a much better match for Laurence (in a couple of years, of course...)

lol I still find the thought of Emily/Laurence too weird to take in but I think when she's old enough I won't feel so strange about it because I'll have a different mental image of her in my head. lol It's like, the begining of POTC, when kid Elizabeth is talking to Norrington, who's already an adult, and I would never make the connection. Then he proposes when she's grown up and I go "Hey...wait that actually WORKS." lol

No, don't worry about that, the books are pretty much T-rated. If you're at least 13, don't hesistate to read them. The sex is only implied, never described.

A háttér azért lett ilyen komor, mert a kettejük kapcsolatának kilátástalanságát akartam vele érzékeltetni. Azért fura egyébként, hogy hajóra tettem őket, mert ők nem hajóskapitány és tengerészeti admirális, hanem a légi hadtestnél dolgoznak, sárkányháton. Laurence régen hajóskapitány volt, de aztán kénytelen volt átmenni a légi hadtesthez.
