Description
Wither boss skeleton in Minecraft and some nice iron with gold trim armor. This picture of mine I think is bright and very warm, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. My first piece to ever have the background shaded and colored first (still drew the front first), so it was something new to try and from now on I'll probably always do this. I would like to get better at not using lines so the background was my practice. I kept the land and the ghast blocky because of reasons unknown, I guess I just wanted the realism focus on the main characters. Textures for the glowstone and netherrack are from my Minecraft resource pack that is 128 x 128 (getting close to finishing it). That ghast look like they're on drugs. I never draw lava or fire so this was a first. There are many flaws to the structure of the skeleton. This is not an actual enemy in Minecraft, it's based off a smaller with skeleton that is in the game. Why did I draw a large one instead of the Wither or normal size ones? I thought this is idea cooler and I think the Wither is boring to draw, a big simple three headed blob. Lighting was fun. I drew this on my new tablet. This paragraph is jumping from one topic to the next, no real order. And lastly, tell me how shade the netherrack blocks in the front because I have no idea howTime: About 6 hours
Tools: Intuos (non-pro version), Photoshop CC
Tell me what I can do to improve or add to my drawings or ask something you'd like to know. Also this was planned to have a nether fortress in the background and some dead zombie pigmen in the foreground with gold nuggets and gold swords on the ground, but I got to lazy, sorry. Also really no depth of field in this.

Dude this is a spectacular first time on something like this! The lighting and shading are well done overall. There's a few minor mistakes on the skeleton, like the hands feel awkward.
As for shading the blocks on the bottom and near the character, make all of the surfaces that face the viewer, surfaces not facing the flames and lava a solid, dark color. The further away from the lava the darker. The top and sides of the walls, a lighter color, on your own judgement.
These are things you'll get to realise as you practice. Very well done!

Thank you for the advice and compliments! I'll practice some more on surface shading and some more on hands, hands and feet are the hardest things to draw for me, really I think everyone struggles a little with them.
