Well, it's possible ... I don't know for sure ...It's what our teacher said to paint, back then, for practicing leaves and stuff!!
So I apologize if it's not correct...!!

No, you're correct! I don't know if the ones in my area are. Could be similar looking trees that aren't really chestnuts.

I have checked it!!  In our park ( in Belgium) we have 2 types of chestnut trees, the wild and the tame; This branch is of a tame apparently... (don't know or you call it tame and wild in english? ), their leaves are different!

Hmm.. some of them you can eat, and some are poisonous! The Sweet Chestnuts are edible and the Horse Chestnuts are not. According to Google.
