As the name suggest, these are ghost type alicorns.

The first ever known of this breed is our stallion Specter [link] .

This breed of Alicorns can be known to be savage and cruel to humans. It is believed that the reason being for this attitude to humans is the reason for the existence of the Phantom breed to being with. Legend has it that at one time a band of humans committed acts of such evil and violence on a small herd of alicorns that the restlessness of the spirit of one of the dying came back to exact vengeance for the crimes that were so terribly wrongful. From that day forth this vengeful ghost has wandered the earth seeking to exact its revenge on the human race that wronged the gentle creature in its living state.

With this in mind most Phantom Alicorns will not respect a human handler unless an act of ultimate good will and loyalty has taken place. Although the rare female Phantom Alicorn is for some reason more willing to accept a human as a companion and handler, they are also more docile than a male. Phantom Alicorns will then be loyal to the end to this human, even if it cost them their own life. Once befriended, a Phantom Alicorn can sense when its human is in danger or needs assistance, they share a sort of empathic bond that only the alicorn can feel.

Just real ghosts, these alicorns can affect the environment around them. For example it can feel colder in isolated spots when a Phantom Alicorn is in an area. They can also become intangible and phase through objects, or cause items that are touching to do the same. They have limited psychic ability to move some objects at will of their mind as well.

They also have control over the flames they generate from their hooves, mane and tail. If angered they can increase the size of the flames and the heat intensity of them. When calm and relaxed the flames are small and warm to the touch, but may still cause burns to skin. If they are with human or other beings they trust completely, they make flames cool to the touch to avoid hurting their friends and family. This way a human may brush, pet, tack and ride a willing Phantom Alicorn without a threat from the horse.

The only other known mortal enemy of this breed other than humans is the Zomblicorn [link] .
Often when they come in close quarters with each other they will try and fight to the death. This is due the fact the Phantom Alicorns see the Zomblicorns as the embodiment of all evil and the Zomblicorns see them as the creature of light that will cause their destruction.

With this in mind one must remember to take great care if housing these two alicorns in the same facility.
Also note that these two breed will never breed with each other, no matter how small the amount of DNA present, a Phantom Alicorn and Zomblicorn can never be bred together, pure bred or even across breed. This must never happen!
If for some chance a pair does not kill each other and does successfully mate, the resulting foal will be still born every time.
