The sleeves were a fun design aspect. I used to love designing clothes and costumes when I was younger and apparently that interest hasn't quite died yet!

When I was designing Arlyss, I spent a lot of time thinking about her sword. What I settled on was that the elves could probably smith special metals that were both light-weight and durable; probably enchanted metals borrowing magick from fairies. *grins* Arlyss is definitely stronger than an average human, but her sword is a light one, too.
