I don't think I've ever seen any hair that close to scene for Avi's. Although, I don't pay attention to announcements. Or anything in regards to clothes. I've had the same one for... 2 years now?

Well, typically when people have OCs, they give them descriptions of their appearances and personalities/background, etc. Sometimes when requesting art, they give a picture reference that they may or may not have drawn themselves.
On Gaia a lot of people will make an avatar similar to their OC to make it easier on artists to draw. For this one I didn't really use the avatar version.
