Hi, I'd like to ask where you got that black bat stencil. Did you make it yourself?

This is really helpful! I've been trying to figure out how to do this for a while now. And this may be a dumb question, but... how do you make the mask stick to your face? Do you use spirit gum? No wait... that would definitely take off your eyebrows. So how does it stick?

Aigue-Marine In reply to aurum88 [2013-11-02 10:06:32 +0000 UTC]

Nope, I use skin-glue called mastix. You only need 2-3 drops on your forehead and on your cheeks to make the mast stick to your face.

I'm planning on a Robin or Kid Flash cosplay, on a budget, and I was wondering if Fosshape would work, too.

To be honest I don't know what exactly Fosshape is.

Hello, I would like to know how you did to let the mask affixed to the face. I'll do a cosplay of Robin and I could not think of anything like that.

Grateful.

Aigue-Marine In reply to Ticow20 [2013-08-05 12:16:26 +0000 UTC]

I use a special skin glue called "Mastix" to attach it to my face.

Any ideas how I can make make a the headress/mask for Amora the Enchantress?? I've got the basic shape, and I'm going to use Worblas, but how do I get it to stay on without some ridiculous strap?

Oh, why don't you use a bit of Mastix skinglue? That's what I always use to keep my masks in shape as well! You only need a few drops of it. Press the headpiece to your forehead and it'll stay there.

I'm sorry. D: I fear I can't.
Just google for "Mask templace" or "Mask stencil". You'll get millions of hits!

Aigue-Marine In reply to Asianninja11 [2012-10-13 13:22:54 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
A DIN-A4 sheet of Worbla's (you can make approx. 3-4 masks out of a sheet of this size depending on the shape and size of the mask) costs 5 pounds + shipping and handling.

Aigue-Marine In reply to lcill [2012-10-13 13:22:05 +0000 UTC]

It depends on how much skin-glue you use. But it doesn't come off easily at all.

When you take the mask off your face, does it ever pull at your eyebrows? It seems as though doing this often enough would leave you without brows eventually...

Also, what do you use to keep your mask in place?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aigue-Marine In reply to songofafreeheart [2012-09-23 12:03:31 +0000 UTC]

Haha, no. I keep the mask in place with a special type of skin glue called "Mastix". I always make sure that the glue doesn't touch my eyebrows though.

songofafreeheart In reply to Aigue-Marine [2012-10-03 23:50:58 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. When you press the mask to your face, which it's hardening into shape. Doesn't it catch your eyebrows then?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aigue-Marine In reply to songofafreeheart [2012-10-08 14:28:31 +0000 UTC]

Aah! No, it doesn't.
The plastic won't stick to your face. It only sticks to other surfaces made of plastic.

Thanks much. I think this may help with a mask I'm trying to make. The Green Lantern's Mask (Kyle Rayner version). Which may be a bit tricky since it seems to be a two part type of mask. Would you mind discussing it further?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aigue-Marine In reply to StarDragon77 [2012-08-29 23:54:04 +0000 UTC]

Of course I won't mind! Which part to you consider to be difficult about Kyle's mask?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

StarDragon77 In reply to Aigue-Marine [2012-08-30 00:47:33 +0000 UTC]

Well, there are two parts to the mask. one layer that sits on the face and another layer that sits on top of the mask. To be honest, I've been looking around for materials and it seems to be a little outside of my budget. Which is why I've been looking around at various sites and I've found one that makes the mask. Sorry to have wasted your time. ^_^;;
