very nicely done! I have yet to actually manage an eye in digital mediums, and this just might help. Thanks!

To post a tutorial is a great act of generosity towards fellow artists.

"Draw a curvy line, be awesome, apply magic, use potion, further magic--and tada, an eye!"
XD But seriously--this is awesome, and I really love that purple-blue eye at the end. <33

I always get a kick out of tutorials that start like this... "take a pretty much already done eye, and just jazz it up a bit!"
Nah but it's nice. Although I'm not quite clear what this line is that's extending from the inner edge of the eyebrow... is it supposed to be a shadow? Because you've got a hard edge on it and it's kind of screwing with my perception of the shapes.

I am somewhat new to CS5, so this question could be totally stupid BUT...
When I use the smudge tool it doesn't blend anything together like this, it just ...sorta moves the color around or something. But no blending. Is there a way to make it so it /actually/ blends stuff?

It depends a lot on the setting (brush, brush size, opacity, etc) and the final *effect* you want to achieve. You might check out some tutorial vids on youtube to give you a better idea of the technique to use with the smudge tool.

So, on #1, you have... a curvy line, but on #2, there's an entire eye.
What happened?

I'm guessing that the artist wanted the person viewing the tutorial to try and do it on their own rather than step by step.

Maybe, but that somewhat contradicts the "tutorial" part. I again know it's for eye shading and not drawing eyes, but the drawing part could've been just as useful.
Thank you for your inquiry, anyways.

Well it DOES say on the top. 'Eye Shadow Tutorial'.

Well, yes. I know that. I'm not really stupid; if that's what you're implying. I don't want to start anything.

I don't really think it's a bad thing, but there are like a million gazillion quantroliafillion "Eye Tutorials" of all kinds...some are specific, some are generalistic, some are simple, others are extensive etc.
Even though I think this is a pretty good eye tutorial and I like the style and I really appreciate people who do tutorials in the first place...idk, I guess I've just seen too many. And I only just noticed that it actually says "Simple Eye-Shadow Tutorial" at the top Anyways, nevermind what I said xD I'm sure people can use this and like I said, I like the style, so good job!

Very very pretty vivid eye colors, I like the examples without the stars in the pupil though, feels to me more realish and like a very interesting human stare is being shot at me :3 Others might feel the same way about the star pupil though

The shading and coloring almost makes them look 3D, very cool.
