Description
The original Bayonet Class was a somewhat rushed design. It mounted advanced weapons and impressive shielding, but they were required to be made quickly to avoid sabotage from the Frinatic Order and to help bring an end to the Hassaveil. They completed their intended goals, but their rushed construction did not hold up well as time went by. Thus a class-wide refit was ordered several months after the ending of the war.

The Generation Two Bayonet Class retains the same powerful main armament of FTL distortion beams. However, the class received an engine upgrade, shield updating, weapons improvement, and a new orientation with more versatile secondary batteries. With the intent to operate at longer ranges due to capabilities of the main guns, the ships are usually seen with impressive heavy caliber Gatling secondary batteries in order to quickly deal with most likely rapidly approaching threats. Twelve Gen 3 interdiction and normalization manipulators were added, giving the ships the second most powerful manipulators currently in service at the cost of extreme power draw when active.
