Description
Alfur had fallen into neglecting its mainline destroyers. At one point in time the nation had three different classes of destroyer type vessels, but by the time of the Hassaveil only one, the Kiehava Class, was still in operation.
Despite not being too popular with fleet commanders for being "a smaller, less gunned Vakun", Kiehavas were forced to fight out of need for ships. Though well aged, the generation 2 destroyers fulfilled their support roles well. Thus, as the war started to settle, many of the surviving G2 Kiehavas were sent to be heavily refitted.

These ships focus on speed and maneuverability to stay alive. Thus, power was more dedicated to engine thrust than to shield protection, and the ships have only light armor protection over key areas. The torpedo armaments were increased majorly and the guns were modernized. The increased number of engines give the Kiehava Class one of the fastest accelerations of any Alfurian ships.

Kiehavas are also well known in Alfur for being the first ships ever exported, with several generation 1 non-sovexian variants being given to Zypher.
