Description
As the BT-202 Remtia II has been proving itself in combat, several design features have been noted to be lacking. The vehicle's turret traverse speed and 10 second reload time have caused problems in some situations. Though the beloved 180mm cannon still functions as the standard armament for Alfurian tanks, the 522 prototype mounts a faster firing 150mm cannon, the same weapon mounted on the BT-100 Dashna II light tank. The faster firing gun also weighs less than the 180mm, enabling the tank to have a faster turret traverse. While being slightly faster than the Remtia II, the 522 still boasts impressive frontal and side armor while sacrificing rear armor. Spaced track skirts, thick and well sloped plates, and new, classified sovex metals ensure protection is not sacrificed with mobility. Though it is unlikely that the 522 will ever be mass produced, it provides Alfurian tank designers with a steppingstone to future vehicles.
