Description

Decided to do some illustrations of the soldiers of my nation roleplaying game, Tyvia.

By 1570, the alliance of Tyvia, Tavria and Lugania, as well as the 4 conquered kingdoms of Pivkraina, Povkraina, Slavkraina and Kolska are reformed into an Elective Empire (think Holy Roman Empire to get an idea of how this political system works). Following the next several decades, the Empire conquered around a quarter of the Northern part of Ouhiri, totaling 15 kingdoms (including Tyvia).

In 1603, despite having enormous gains, the Imperial Army is exhausted after a decade-long warfare, which is exploited by their Eastern neighbor, another powerful nation in the region, the Lusatian Commonwealth. The following war, which lasts until 1615, which became known as the War of the Northern Realms, saw some of the Empires Eastern territories conquered by Lusatia, as but also some of Lusatian territories conquered by the Empire. The war ended when both sides sued each-other for peace after the war drained pretty much all of the resources of both nations.

In 1620, slavery was officially outlawed in the Empire, granting freedom to the Faldic demihumans who lived in it's territories. However, 3 of the most prominent slave-owning kingdoms - Pivkraina, Slavkraina and Povkraina did not want to give up their right to own slaves, so a Civil War broke out. By 1652, horrendously outnumbered, humans in the 3 kingdoms face near extinction. The Civil War ends, and with the situation at hand, the former slaves are granted permission to form their own nations on the territories of the former 3 kingdoms - thus the Faldic Khanate is born, which swears it's allegiance to the Empire in gratitude for freeing them from slavery.

In the following years, untill the late 1690's, 4 island nations inhabited by Nedic demihumans. 3 of them join the Empire willingly, but the 4th had to be conquered.
