Description Time for something... original.

This here is a creature I created, called a Spellock. They live in groups, and it's nearly impossible to distinguish males from females, though some may assume that these creatures are genderless/sexless. They are considered immortal and partially invincible. Virtually nothing can kill them. Even the most powerful mage/warrior figures in my story steer clear of them (like Lemeana, for example, she would not mess with these beasts). They are loosely based off of gorilla anatomy in that they have very powerful forelegs and shorter back legs. Spellocks can also mutate spikes along their backs. Magic based Spellock will have more dexterous hands.

Β The "male" depicted here could be considered a patriarch, and of the Warrior variant, hence the red glowing rune markings.Β The rune on his forehead means "elk-sedge" (supposedly, I've seen a few different translations of it) and the ones on his arms mean "estate" (also supposedly). The lines running over his eyes/encircling his arms are actually not a part of the real runes, if that makes sense. Each class of Spellock can be determined by the coloring of their markings/tattoos (Priest = white, Mage = blue, Shaman = yellow, Warrior = red, Druid = green and Black = black mage).

I guess that's all I'll say about them.

Spellocks are the intellectual property of meeeee, ~Airanke aka Anne Hauser.

Ahhh thanks so much darling

Hopefully I'll be able to draw more of them while I'm in Canada!

Hmmm at the moment no, but that's subject to change They probably have one or two, I just don't know them yet since none of my characters would dare to go near them. The situation is kind of like, everyone knows what they are capable of doing, so they don't want to risk the massive losses/damage that a single Spellock can do if it is provoked just to find out one weakness

Do you have any more images of Spellocks? They are very interesting.

Wow, I'm glad you like them!! Sadly, this is my first serious drawing of a Spellock

I'll see if I can whip up a few more sketches of them before I fly out tomorrow

That would be incredible. Do they have tails? What sort of feet do they possess? So many possibilities.. I can't wait to see. The runes definitely seal the deal.

Ahhh hmm, I haven't really ever seen them with tails, but as you've said, there are many possibilities n_n I'll never know unless I draw it all out! Animal anatomy is a very difficult thing for me to draw, so drawing Spellocks will be great practice for me

Very true. It is always good to get practice out of your work. You can't really go wrong with that. Horse anatomy, now.. An entirely different story.
I will be keeping an eye out, and can't wait to see more of this creature. Something about it is just very appealing.
