What I think gives this photo a quality of nostalgia and stillness is in that in this melancholy twinge, the girl achieves a sense of serenity.

I'm a big fan of grain, and the monochromatic tone really adds to this piece. Beautiful work, would love to see more.

une mer noire de lui ( ? correct?)
this is the most delicate her eyes and cheeks, like the softest memory
&it has a pull, a need to be there with her again(as if she is also of my own memory)
ce mot clichΓ© 'nostalgic' unfortunate for there is no other word i can think of,
but it is so

wow i love the incredibly soft focus and dirt on this shot - it reminds me of a very old film still - maybe from a super 8 film or something - her expression adds to the tenderness of the print quality. How did you do this or what did you use to shoot this i LOVE it!

can i contribute to the overwhelming consensus that this is full of WARMTH?
thank you.
anyway this conveys a timelessness and frailty through the lovely browns in your blacks and the richness of those blacks. The grain and the dirt and the blur all frame this as a memory not quite forgotten. personally i think good photography tells a story, or at least makes the viewer consider a back story, and this, my lady, is very good photography.

It's so atmospheric. Her face and form are in that study of the past; memory. It's like she jsut remembered something that ....hurt.
Awesome pic. Love the feel of it.

like the cadrage and the space using you made.
the grain (and the balance that makes the whole a little "blurred" but just as little many as it should ) gives a feeling of softness
and she seems as protected behind a glass wall.
As it seems like a movie sequence shot due to the background blur and the black point as if it was a shot of an old magnetic movie band it brings the idea of memories yes

Beautiful, so stylistic and warm. Really reminds me of the sketchy unstable nature of memories. Also mysterious, which reminds me of how memories can sometimes pop up out of nowhere and you have no idea why.
Great work. Keep it up.
