Amazing shot, and feeling between the name and the picture is incredible, the name gives lots more of taste to the photo

Doctrine of a Photographer is an allegory:

The Photography can represent feelings and passions (woman), but it is anyway subdued to whatever is impressioned on film, not just what human eyes can see (film-gagged eyes): this is, at the same time, both a limitation and a key-point of Photography.

Photography is technics too (camera) and must thus abide to the laws of Optics.

Photography is done by man: as such, any shots cannot be completely removed of the photographer's inprinting, no matter how hard he tries.
In every photo there's the immanent presence of its photographer (foot): it was he who trivially shot it (that's because its foot is visible) but as long and as hard as he tries to "remove himself out og the shoot" (metaphorically) he always leaves a track of himself.

i really like the concept behind this. you have used a great range of values and it does have a good balance of them, but i don't really like the composition. it seems disjointed and doesn't provide much odf a sense of direction, like the foot or the camera should be closer to the person so that it would provide a triangular sense of balance. just my personal opinion...i don't want to hurt any feelings! and if that disjointed aspect is something you were trying to get, i completely understand, might just not be my cup of tea...

it's really fine. feelings, meh, the art world doesn't care about feelings. thanks for being considerate though.. it's nice.

shoe- payless, $15.

camera - somewhere expensive, a lot more.

getting a daily deviation - priceless.

i love this picture. it really has meaning to me, even though i'm more of a hobbyist when it comes to photography. i'm a film advocate. digital just doesn't do it.

im drooling over your pic. hmm what else can i say that everyone else hasnt said already...i didnt read any of the other comments so i hope this doesnt sound too repetative. I love seeing a picture with meaning. So much of the work on deviantart is purely visual. For the longest time I fought off digital advances, but there isnt much you can do. The majority has ruled. This image is not only a picture, its a statement, its a way of life, its a symbol of everything photography should be. mAAd probs babe.

it is dangerous to presume anything ever I think. But I would say the foot represents the other person involved in the act of photographic portraiture. and even though this isnt a portrait as such, it becomes one by default perhaps ? it also completes the composition not distracts from it.

It is sad that digital is becoming so prolifific. I refuse to touch one of those dreadful things with a 10 foot pole! Film has been and will always be better as an origination medium for both still and cine work. Digital has its place, just not near me.

I like this, and I also find it quite sinister, it's almost as if she's being stood over, and the fact she's blindfolded just adds to this. Well done.

Nice idea, it is well done, but I do not agree with the DD description, digital is not overtaking photo films.
It is very convenient, but you can't find the magic with it.
The film is magic and all the processes which come along are also part of the great aspect of the photography.
Anyway, this said, I have to tell once again that this is a good concept

serpentinekiss In reply to aalf [2005-04-03 01:33:36 +0000 UTC]

they're talking about the end of film production...so, wouldn't that be overtaking? they've already ceased producing audio tape.
i never mentioned that digital can create the magic of film, i totally agree with you. personally i am a big fan of lomography, which is something that will never be replaced by digital.

I got a digital camera Canon 300D, but I would rather my 3000N.. it's lighter and makes for less camera shake and i don't have to always worry about a tripod.

Nice shot, doesn't seem to be that much shadow in it. I like the idea of the film over your eyes.

Sorry about the small critic I'm just a little sleepy.
