This scene reminds me a bit of Dark Souls, to be frank.
A good way (that I have found out) is to work on the image and then mirror it. You will easily distinguish wronging if you see it at a different angle.
Which is also, why some dislike themselves in photos but not in mirrors, because you see yourself in a flipped image in a mirror more commonly than in a photo.
Still digging the red by the way.
