This is drawn awesomely. You really captured Aang's personality. Β
Now you wanted some tips on shadowing and line art. Let's start with the shadowing
It's very good, I love how you did the eyes Β . The only thing that bothers me are those lines you did around the shadows. On some places they look good, they blend in with the shadows but still reminds you that they are there. One of this places are the neck and his yellow collar thingy (forgot that's it's called XD). But when they are places that the lines stick out too much. Like on his shirt and the one under his eye, there you leaved a light spot (that by the way was awesome, it's really brings his cheek forward). It's was a nice style thought Β . Β You just have to make sure the lines doesn't take the attention too much.
You seem to have a good sense of shapes and how lights hits. But it may have been just a little too much on the shirt. Partly because it's a shirt and depending on the fabric it reflects light in different ways and right now i's laying more on the silk type. Also it maybe should have been just a tiny light on the other side too. But I love how you leaved the outer side a little light, that's really good. Same fore the face.
Now to the line art. It's really good the way it is, but like anything it can always be better. First off it's really good that you have different size on the lne art and different pressure. Like his face. I love how you did the line art for his face
The only thing I can tips you on is the basics, so you may already know some of the things I'm going to say, but it may be good with a reminder sometimes.
Like I said before it's needs varied lines. You already got that but if you want to (depending on your preference) you can add more details after you have done the way you have now. Like there lines meets (his ears and neck) you could add a little connection thingy. It can be don in different ways, like triangles or just adding more weight. Some tutorials on line arting dust-bite.deviantart.com/art/Lβ¦Β sashas.deviantart.com/art/The-β¦
I can also be done in reverse, that instead of connecting lines you disconnect them or make them so thin it's looks like it's disconnected. Ones again it's depends ofΒ that you like. It can also be both methods. I know some anime styled do the disconnecting thingy, especially with mouths. It's up to you.
It also good to sometimes flip the canvas while you working. That way you see mistakes you didn't notice before.
Well that's all I could think of right now. I hope it was to some help Β

For starters, thanks very much for all the compliments of this picture!Β ^^Β x3
Also thanks for all the pointers Β Now that you mention it I can see what you mean aboutΒ the lineart being too dark in some areas, as well as how the lines are shaped in some places, and the lighting on his shirt. I'll try and improve on these things on my next drawing
I really appreciate the advice! <3 Also thanks for the tutorial links ^^

I love this little guy. Cutest cartoon character ever. I love it how you drew him looking so optimistic. So very Aang.
