I'm just curious...if Animorphs can reshape their mass into their animal forms...then...where do they store all that excess of mass when they morph into flies?

The extra mass gets stored in Zero Space. Book 18 tells you all about it. In fact it is possible for a ship to actually colloid with "morphed" mass from someone currently in morph...and cause all kinds of terrible chaos!
