Chase scenes! Honestly I dont see the point of running though, it's not like the people chasing can really hurt any of them.

What can they do to them? I assume the ones searching aren't military, so they don't have any weapons that could hurt them permanently. Plus the shock factor would make the pursuers pause long enough to at least start an explanation.

1- they *aren't* bulletproof. bullets > soft tissue because physics.
2- they might take pics or video, not worth the risk
3- if 2) happens, there would be a lot of unwanted attention to the forest.

1) True but the muscle density would stop them from dealing much damage, and why would the searchers have guns anyway? They're searching for a missing girl, not hunting an animal.
2) True, it would be dangerous for that.
3) They could just avoid any hunters. Superior senses and the ability to move faster than a human would enable them to avoid people on foot long enough to get out, and having vehicles in a heavily wooded area would be impractical. Also, a wolf's nose could find any traps by the remains of scent on them, or the metallic tang, and avoid humans. MAYBE long-range scanners would be a problem, but still they know the terrain and could outrun/hide from any pursuers.
Anyway, I know that doesn't really matter, it's your story. It's getting really good, and I look forward to the next
