really? it looks good enough to be an action figure, and usually action figure companies have crazy but awesome designs like this!

Eh, even so, not quite done...And it's not meant for one of those funky action figure designs, it's meant to be a stylized version of Pete's classic red & blue costume. I'm planning on submitting it to Marvel possibly.

I'll definitely be cheering you on when you send it to Marvel. I'm kind of like you because I have my own Spider Fan costume. It's very basic cartoon artwork and design and I'll probably say mine's not quite done either but have a look for yourself and see what you think [link]

yeah ^_^; you can see what I meant by "very basic" but it was just to show you could make a costume from basic clothing. And just like you, I'm probably going to improve this at some point

I understand, it's well-done in that sense.
Of course. It's what we artists do. owo

Hey dude, I really like your design but I do think you need to give credit to Sean Galloway as its his style and design.

AJ-Prime In reply to The-Seacow [2008-10-18 14:39:52 +0000 UTC]
*drops upside-down on a webline*
To be honest, I didn't think I needed to give credit to someone who didn't do the pic...Not to sound rude or anything, just never occurred to me because I came up with the costume and Rider drew it. It's semi fanart, but not really...
Besides, last time I noted a professional dude around here, three times to three different people, they never answered...
I'll just bypass the noting and tell him to check it out.
By teh by, I don't know how to do that picture-in-post thing...So I'll just put that it's in his style with a link to his page.

The-Seacow In reply to AJ-Prime [2008-10-18 15:20:06 +0000 UTC]
Dude, so my bad. I got confused in your description I should actually have directed that comment to Rider then. The reason I say credit is due to mr Galloway is because of this [link] As you can see your design may be an original concept but the actual drawing of Spider-man is copied from that character sheet. Style, pose and all. I note this now is not your concern as you didn't draw it but I think you should inform your friend because without giving credit some people may take it the wrong way and begin flaming accusations of tracing.
See what I'm saying?
Also I must inform you dude about professional artists, the fact that they are professional does give them a form of status and that status attracts a lot of attention from a lot of fans, and there are many kinds of good and bad fans. Expecting an answer from someone who may get more messages and mail that is humanly impossible to read is a bit presumptuous. I respect that you will at least inform him so that he may make the decision himself, he probably won't mind but still out of artistic respect it is necessary to credit him. I'm glad you understand that and are willing to link to his page.
Oh yeah that picture-in-post thing goes like this: you type : i c o n AJ-Prime : without the spaces and there you have it. Just get the DA member's name right is all .

Thanks. I'll tell him that should I remember later ( I tend to have a bad memory due to my health).
Eithe way I put some credit to Sean for the drawing using his style, and I sent him a note.
Yeah, I know, but still.
Aaah...I'll change that later too, when I get the chance.
Nice talkin' to ya' dude.

Instant fav. Spidey should make this a costume design that he uses sometime in the future (nameley after brand new day has been undone)

Man I hate brand new day. They should never have retconned the last 30 years of spidey comics.

It's really not that bad. I like most of the new villans and such.
But I think it'll end up being like that one Thor story arc, where everything reverted back to the way they're supposed to be eventually.

Hopefully, I liked the newer bitter spiderman, since it meant he out-meaned wolverine (who didn't like him beating the crap out of the kingpin?)
Then too I was hoping he'd kill the pro-reg heroes

AJ-Prime In reply to Orumon [2008-09-09 13:51:37 +0000 UTC]
I liked him beating the crap out of the Kingpin, but he wouldn't be the Spidey everyone knows and loves if he went bitter permanently.
And killing the pro reg heroes would be WAY too far.

After prison 42? I think not (well, the ones who made it need to die... but Reed turned out to be a skrull imposter, and we're not sure about Tony... but he's a dick anyway)
The whole point of Marvel is they move character forward, not backtrack all the way to the 80s.
It feels sloppy. Maybe if he left her during his grief and they didn't get back together until after he pulled himself together. That wouldn't only work but would refurbish him without destroying the storyline.

AJ-Prime In reply to Orumon [2008-09-09 16:03:46 +0000 UTC]
Um, no he didn't. I've been reading the Secret Invasion comics.
But that Prison thing DID take Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic off my fave heroes list.
Yeah, unless it's temporary and necessary for a story.
One thing I think I should mention...Peter went insane in the 90's Spider-Man series (the alternate Spider-Carnage near the end) because Aunt May died. Well the same thing could happen to 616 Peter if she died in the way she was about to, and I wouldn't wanna see that.

Orumon In reply to AJ-Prime [2008-09-09 18:30:38 +0000 UTC]
in britain we haven't got that far and we're waiting for it still (gah) I've only recieved indirect evidence. Anyway, I don't think prison 42 should remain after the secret invasion, since it's conclusive proof that the old ways were best.
I do remember the 90 series ending, but don't forget that this peter still has MJ. even so, It would be interesting to see the venom symbiote rebond with peter because of his bitternes. I know it won't happen of course, but I can dream.
Venom AKA peter parker. THAT would be a plot twist.

Orumon In reply to AJ-Prime [2008-09-10 08:59:57 +0000 UTC]
Maybe not a good twist, but it would be an amusing paradox for me if Brock became the righteous life preserving hero, while peter parker transformed into venom... I actually don't wanna see that, but the thought amuses me.

Actually, from the looks of it Brock may become a new hero...Although a creepy one. And he's not Venom.
I dun wanna spoil anything for ya' though.

Ahh well. Brock was always a hero in my book (after all he'd carve a bloody swathe through supposedly innocent Nuns and orphans to save an obviously innocent kitten)
