well it's bn too long since iv submitted any art! wats up with that!? i started this one early this year as a prezzie for and finished it sumtime later but then forgot about it. so i found it again and decided to cg it a lil bit more and there it is! what am i doing wrong? theres something good about it and something reali slack about it. point out ether and ill be happy! i need pointers (preferably on the cging), they help heaps! hope u like it! lol dnt ful view.. looks beta small me thinks.Related content

wow the hair detail is just stunning!!! So realistic!! If u don't mind me asking, how do you get it so crisp and clear? (the hairstrands). Wonderful lightning, and nice anatomy too 
Oh, and the issue that seems to be bothering u, I think it is the as someone else poined out, "plastic" light on their hair. But anyway, other than that, wonderful work! I hope to see more of this from you in the future!

Any tips or anything? I hoped it would be here today (tis my bday- 16 w00t) but it's not.... I'm looking around at tutorials, but I would love some help pwetty pweaase

uh sure! umm.. make sure the sensitivity setting is set towards the lower end so that you can press hard enough to make the lines fat and thin without trouble (ie low enough that when you lightly stroke it, it comes up wth a v. thin line not a fat one, but not to so low that you have to scratch ur tablet to get a fat line.) <-- make sure u have a brush on PS that is pressure sensative too ha XD. then just go for gold! start off sketching rough.. very rough outlined pictures from scratch in a very light and unsaturated colour then with a SLIGHTLY darker colour, make a new layer and add in detail then get darker and darker as you get more precise until you have all the details down and then you can afford to spend alot of time making a good lineart layer with crisp strong lines. (you can see an example in my lates link sketch picture) my sis likes to do it lightly with a big brush but i prefer a smaller brush. have one hand on the tablet and the other on Ctrl+Z cos it hard to get some angles. once u get used to it it becomes easy and viola, perfect lineart without paper or scanning! the pros are that you often come out with a much more detailed and.. flowing? image (lyk things join where they should etc). id also reccommend flipping your image over horizontally alot and try to make it look natural both ways around (this is because the artist wont ever notice a mistake of lopsidedness until a week after he/she has submitted it, but when you flip it over its like looking at a new picture) enjoy your new tablet!!!

great shot, I love the composition and the underglow...
I'd say the odd thing with it is the glow on the hair... it's too strong and solid, so instead of looking like normal hair, it looks like it's got flat plastic shell over it or something... I dunno. Make the layer an "Addition" or "soft light" layer...
